Essential Question:  Why is it important to research career choices?

 

Standards:

QCC: 8, 7, 6

(All Grades).7: Demonstrates basic knowledge of information-processing software packages.

 

GPS: (All Grades 8,7,6)

ELAW1: The student produces writing that establishes an appropriate

organizational structure, sets a context and engages the reader, maintains a

coherent focus throughout, and provides a satisfying closure.

ELAW3: The student uses research and technology to support writing.

ELALSV1: The student participates in student-to-teacher, student-to-student,

and group verbal interactions.

ELALSV2:The student listens to and views various forms of text and media

in order to gather and share information, persuade others, and express and

understand ideas.

 

 

Setup Procedures:

 

1. Go to Career Cruising. com  

 

2. Log in using this information:

 

Username: pepperell

Password: dragon

 

3. We will take a career personality test. Wait for teacher instruction.

 

4. After taking the test, we will begin to research our top 3 jobs.

 

5. After determining your top 3 jobs, you will begin to take notes using your handout.

 

6. Once your handout is complete, you will begin to create you Word document.

 

7. Every student will read one of their jobs to the class and discuss why you chose the job. Each student must present their job for a minimum of 2 minutes.

 

8. This link will take you to an example of a completed job summary. Compare your work this example before you asked to be graded.
